State Zero Privacy Policy
Dernière mise à jour : August 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how State Zero, a multiplayer game published by Picasso Rayne Studios LLC ("Picasso Rayne Studios," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and retains information about you when you play the game.
State Zero is an online, squad-based game. To provide online play, matchmaking, voice chat, and fair-play protection, it uses Epic Online Services and Epic Account Services (including Easy Anti-Cheat and EOS Voice) from Epic Games, Inc., and, where you play through Steam, the Steamworks services from Valve Corporation. By playing State Zero, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. How We Collect Your Data
We collect information in the following ways:
Information you provide
- Contact details such as your email address, if you contact us for support or feedback
- Reports you submit about other players (which may include a short captured segment of in-game or voice activity)
Information collected automatically as you play
- Device and technical information (e.g., device model, hardware, operating system, language, and game version)
- Gameplay and progression data (e.g., loadouts, inventory and loot, character customization, contracts completed, match results, statistics, and progression)
- Multiplayer and network data, including your IP address, connection quality, region/ping, session and matchmaking data, and squad/party membership
- Log data and timestamps
- Crash logs and diagnostic data used to fix bugs and improve stability
Account information from Epic Online Services
When you sign in to or play State Zero with your Epic account, we receive from Epic Games:
- Your Epic Account ID and Epic display name
- Your email address, only where you use Epic Account Services and consent to share it during sign-in
- Authentication tokens used to verify your session
- Online service data such as friends, statistics, achievements, leaderboard entries, and matchmaking data
Account information from Steam
When you play State Zero through Steam, we receive from Valve limited account information such as your Steam ID, Steam persona (display) name, and session/authentication data used to verify ownership and enable online play.
Voice chat
If you use in-game voice chat, your voice audio is transmitted in real time to other players in your session through EOS Voice. We do not record or store your voice chat, except where a short segment is captured and submitted as part of a player report for safety and moderation.
Anti-cheat data
State Zero uses Easy Anti-Cheat (part of Epic Online Services) to detect and prevent cheating and to protect fair play. While the game is running, the anti-cheat service collects and processes information about your device and system — including hardware and operating-system details, running processes and loaded modules, and game-integrity data — to identify cheating software. This information is processed by Epic Games as the anti-cheat provider.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the game, including authenticating you and saving your progress
- Enable online features such as matchmaking, squads, friends, leaderboards, achievements, voice chat, and cross-platform play
- Detect, prevent, and act on cheating, fraud, and abuse, and enforce our terms (including via Easy Anti-Cheat)
- Respond to your support requests and player reports, and communicate with you about the game
- Diagnose and fix bugs and crashes, and improve performance, stability, balance, and features
- Maintain the security and integrity of the game and its online services
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
3. How We Share Your Data
We share information only as described below:
- Epic Games, Inc. — State Zero's online features, voice chat, and anti-cheat are delivered through Epic Online Services (including Easy Anti-Cheat and EOS Voice), so relevant data is processed through Epic's platform. Epic's handling of your data is governed by the Epic Games Privacy Policy.
- Valve Corporation (Steam) — Where you play through Steam, account and session data is processed via Steamworks under the Valve Privacy Policy.
- Other players — Your display name, squad presence, in-game activity, and (if enabled) your live voice are visible or audible to other players in your session, as part of normal multiplayer play.
- Service providers — We use trusted vendors to help operate the game, such as cloud/dedicated-server hosting, analytics, and crash reporting. They may access data only to perform services on our behalf and are bound to protect it.
- Legal and safety — We may disclose information if required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our players, the public, or Picasso Rayne Studios.
- Business transfers — If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not share your personal identifying information with third parties for their own independent marketing.
4. How Long We Retain Your Data
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Typical retention periods are:
- Account and profile data — while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward (generally up to 24 months), unless you request deletion sooner.
- Gameplay and progression data — while your account is active; associated online records (e.g., leaderboard entries) may be retained to maintain the integrity of those features.
- Multiplayer/session logs — generally up to 90 days for troubleshooting, security, and abuse prevention.
- Anti-cheat data — retained by the anti-cheat provider only as long as needed to detect, investigate, and enforce against cheating, and to maintain the integrity of enforcement (such as bans).
- Voice chat — transmitted in real time and not recorded or stored by us, except a short segment attached to a player report, which is kept up to 24 months.
- Support communications and player reports — up to 24 months after resolution.
- Crash logs, diagnostics, and analytics — in identifiable form for up to 14 months, after which data is deleted or aggregated.
When you request deletion of your data, we delete or de-identify it within 30 days, except where we are required or permitted to retain it (for example, to enforce a cheating ban, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations). You may disconnect your Epic or Steam account from State Zero at any time.
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, such as encrypted network connections and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at jermypearson@picassoraynestudios.com. We will respond in accordance with applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
7. Children's Privacy
State Zero is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
8. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers (including Epic Games and Valve) may process your information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data-protection laws than your own. Where required, we take steps to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
